Tri-Town Y-Papooses - "Friends Forever"

This parent-child experience for pre-school age children builds and strengthens the bonds of love, understanding and respect between you and your child. During monthly tribal meetings, children and parents participate in meeting ceremony, crafts and different activities. It is a great way for preschool aged children to socialize and learn how to become part of a community.

Papoose graduates almost always graduate and join the Guides or Princess program when they reach kindergarten. Not sure this is the right program for you and your child? Contact Us and let one of our officers arrange for you to be an honored guest at the next tribal meeting and see for yourself what this program is all about.

The Y-Papoose Program goals are based on the developmental tasks of helping children to:
  • Develop self-confidence and the ability to please others
  • Feel secure in parents’ love and be able to share love with others
  • Find satisfaction in playing with others their own age and in sharing their possessions
  • Derive satisfaction from physical skill development and active play
  • Develop a growing appreciation of the need for rules and the ability to take directions
  • Accept others as they are.
